newborn sessions are for the whole family, not just baby. I always aim to make them feel relaxed and unhurried and above all, reverent of your new baby. I don't bring props or do "baby posing". I prefer to focus on your baby's natural beauty and your real interactions as a family.
My approach to newborn sessions…
I consider our session a time for me to witness your family and tell a visual story from a mother’s gaze. This means photographing your newborn and your family with the utmost care they deserve. I don't bring props or do "baby posing". As i’ve (not so) jokingly said to newborn client families, I will never put your baby in a basket wearing a crocheted hat. 😉 I prefer to focus on your baby's natural beauty and your real interactions as a family. I’ve found that keeping an attitude of just allowing whatever happens to be there, the more meaningful your photos will be. While newborn photos are a delight to have in the now, they will have immeasurable value in the years and decades to come. You are creating heirlooms to pass down to the future - and enjoy in the meantime.
