Want to Know More About the Artful Parenthood Course?

I’m so happy you’re curious about this online course I’ve developed especially for parents! It’s called Artful Parenthood: Create a Photography Practice for Self-Expression, Connection, and Memory-Making. That’s a mouthful, I know so I’m just calling it Artful Parenthood. 😉 So why did I create this course?

Artful Parenthood Teaches Parents Tangible Photography Skills

Much of the course content is like a photography 101 bootcamp. We spend time going over the shooting fundamentals - light, composition, capturing movement and expression, and basics of how a camera operates. We also spend a big chunk of time talking about all the things that happen after the photo is taken - archiving and organizing your image files, culling and editing, printing and other types of sharing. Covering the fundamentals of what happens both before and after you press your shutter gives you a richer set of practical and applicable skills for approaching any project of documenting family life.

Artful Parenthood Shows Parents a Path to Becoming Their Family’s Storyteller

Do you have a tangled mess of iPhone snapshots but no real direction in what and how you photograph your life? Are you curious about what it would look like to start a creative project of regular photo documentation? As parents, our lives are filled with multi-tasking, context-switching, and a general sense of time scarcity. It's so hard to work against that default way of operating. Sometimes it feels like a luxury to pause and ask yourself "What is most important to me? How can I find more beauty in my everyday?” In Artful Parenthood, we unpack what’s most important for us to document, we examine what limiting beliefs might be holding us back, and learn habits for fostering more creativity in our daily lives.

Artful Parenthood Makes Learning Possible, Even For Busy Parents Like You

The course content is broken up into 14 organized lessons that each contain a short video, a pdf that reviews the big ideas in that video, and often a short assignment. The pace of the course is self-led and the optional assignments are designed to be incorporated in with regular family time. I consider the content of the course mute if it’s not served to you in a way you can digest and easily incorporate and I’ve tried to design everything with that in mind.
